YTL ups commitment with Earth Hour 2010
Lights-off at close to 30 establishments across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand

YTL Corporation continues its support for Earth Hour 2010, upping its commitment with close to 30 iconic landmarks and establishments across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. From Bintang Walk’s Lot 10, Starhill Gallery and The Ritz-Carlton to Wisma Atria in Singapore, Spa Village in Tembok Bali and The Chedi in Phuket, all will go dark for one-hour in this lights-off event, joining the global collaborative effort to send a powerful message of hope and action against climate change. Sunway Pyramid will be supporting Earth Hour Malaysia 2010 for the second year in a row! The mall invites its surrounding community and beyond to join in this cause on 27 March 2010.
Join the countdown as the ‘lights go out’ at 8.30pm sharp, for an hour. To those who turn up in support of this campaign, a limited edition glow-in-the-dark Sunway Earth Hour key chain will be given out, while stocks last.
There will be an Earth Hour ‘Pledge Wall’ by Tupperware at the Main Entrance of Sunway Pyramid. More than just a wall for signing words of encouragement and green resolutions, the wall serves as a reminder to the public to act against climate change in the long run.
On top of that, the event will feature ‘Battle of the Bands’, in collaboration with the Leo Club. Ten bands from various colleges around the Klang Valley will battle it out to see who tops the table. There will also be a dance performance before the winner is decided.
Tips on how to save electricity will be shared and do be on the lookout for food promotions offered along parameters of Oasis Boulevard. Several F&B outlets will be participating in the campaign and will be enticing shoppers with a taste of Earth Hour delights, exclusively for 27 March only!
Besides the mall’s participation in the Earth Hour phenomena, Sunway Pyramid has several initiatives under its green bag. One of them is
(BYOB) which encourages shoppers to use environmentally friendly bags when shopping on Tuesdays and Saturdays and be rewarded with a free parking. The mall’s male toilets are equipped with waterless urinals that deploy biodegradable chemicals instead of water to breakdown human discharge.
Together as entrusted caretakers of our planet, let us unite as one race, one nation, one Malaysia in making a difference. See you on 27 March at Earth Hour Sunway Pyramid!
